Some of you either don't understand why Fantasy Football is so popular. Quick snippet as to why.
Fraternal organizations as a whole are seeing their membership decline in the past decades. Men, after college, are left with work and not much other activities in which to well, be men. Fantasy sports, in part because of its online natural, has in a way filled this need for fraternal organization (and may even be part cause of the organization decline).
So really, its not so much about Football, or fantasy. We play out a dream (of sorts) and root for the heroes and have trash-talk fodder against our friends. It's the 21st century Elks Lodge.
