We haven't had snow like this in years. Seriously, during college the snow has sucked. But it is amazing right now. Every time I see it I get a little happier. I love seeing it piled up on all the evergreens and fortress-like around the driveway. I reeally hope it doesn't rain tomorrow, or if it does, that we get snow again soon.
I know snow is a pain to drive in, but without it, winter is so drab. Winter feels so classic when you've got heaps of snow and all the associated activities. Hopefully we'll get the fireplace going one of these upcoming days. I kept taking breaks during shoveling yesterday to take sweet up-close ("macro" for cool people) photos of the snow on random things (wishing I already had the D40).
Today I found out that not only did we have two sno-tubes (as the branding goes) in the house, but one was brand new and never even opened! So David and I went to a big hill and started flying on them. The snow was perfect for them. The best was when David went down "The Chute of Death" and went flying off the jump through the air (no longer attached to the tube) and then landed on his head. Fortunately he was ok, but I decided to stick to other paths, even though this random 8 year-old kid kept making fun of me for it. I also enjoy lying face up in the snow for long periods of time after going down a hill before climbing back up it.
All this to say, I like the snow and it makes me vaguely optimistic, even if I'm just enjoying it with my brother, and hopefully it'll still be around later on.
On another note, I've been listening to this cool electronic/instrumental band, Caspian, which is really cool. They have a good mix of soft and intense songs and I think some of them graduated from my college.
