The dove egg in the nest at my parents' place has disappeard. They suspect a raven. It's early in the season so hopefully the doves will try again.
Didn't make it to work today. Woke up feeling much like the previous days: stiff and sore, but after dressing and breakfast I tried to unkink a bit. The unkinking was successful, as I used some of the moves from Body Balance class (Tai Chi/Yoga/Pilates mashup). Large round movements rather than straight stretches (a bit like playing Godzilla).I felt good for a minute or so, but then I very abruptly had to lie down. I didn't get up again until late evening.
On the bright side I got to dress for work and try out one of my new scarves, which I really like. Scarves make me happy. Long ones for preference as I've never really got the hang of square ones in heavy fabrics.
Evidence would suggest I was immobilised by meat. Extreme weakness the day after eating too much animal protein is not unheard of, although I'd hoped that the new probiotics might ease the way. In a way there was an improvement in that there was no immediate pain or digestive fireworks. Fingers crossed I don't get what usually follows a day of extreme weakness: horrible pain. The kind of thing that happens after I injest B12, as it happens.
It's hard to observe fun from a distance as friends and authors make their way to Melbourne. Screw brave faces. I acknowledge my disappointment, but hope to salvage something for myself and similarly afflicted friends from I Can't Believe It's Not WorldCon.
