What started as a sucky night turned quite pleasurable.
Hallie took me to this carnival. I love carnivals because it makes me feel young again and carefree. So I played SKeeBall and ate a sausage sandwich and a caramel apple with nuts. Down part: i was the only one in the group that didn't have kids. I Like kids and all, but watching a bunch of girls take their kids around the rides is NOT fun. I'm young and single people, come on.
Then we went to this bar. UGH! Preppies and assholes galore. Some guy spilled beer on me, another one knocked a bench into my leg...no one apologized. They were talking about what girls that they were going to take home tonight...give me a break.I was relieved when Hallie suggested we go walkaround and get her a funnel cake.
Best part: This kid i grew up with was there!: Kevin Coffee, who we as teens nicknamed Kevin Bacon (after the actor). We thought we were so cool then. I'm happy to report that punk ass, bike riding, baggy pants wearing Kevin Bacon turned out to be tall, handsome, and really very nice! We hung out all night with him, ate together, walked together, and danced together. He's a rocker, so I love him even more. It was very refreshing to have someone from my childhood to hang out and get along with, especially since I annoyed the HELL out of him at 13. I'm glad he turned out ok.
Anthony, Hallie's friend that is only 21, is very nice, too. He's in the whole "I'm in college, gotta binge drink" stage. I'm so very far from that (tonight I drank 1/4 of a beer-that's it-no cigs either).
Headache in teh back of my head-going to Geuga Lake tomorrow-must sleep!
