Scattered Babies

Gathered my hopes my dreams my secret little wishes
Lined them up like little girl lost dollies
Wearing precisely the right dress precisely the right hat
Pushed them along that broken street in a carriage
Made of earth and tears and sweat and fears
Moved all my desires on my own no help no one
Forgot to duck when you started to swing again
Went down to my knees heart filled with pain
Headline reads "Woman Killed By Her Own Dreams"
Scatter my babies shatter my carriage
Remind me again why you left me
Splintered ceramic lips and eyes and heart
Mock me from the asphalt of what we used to be
