Lord of the Rings Prequels in the making
It appears those talented New Zealanders are at it again.
There is strong evidence that a fan-fiction prequel (or two) of PJ's LOTR trilogy are in the making, with the cooperation of the fabled Weta Workshops. This should be enough to get anyone to have their hobbit- or elf-ears prick up in interest.

Having just watched the trailers, and learned that these folks are basically working pro bono at this point, makes my heart ache; this could become good. But I also fear the intervention of the ever-so-jealous Tolkien Estate.
