Health food

I'm going back on to my restrictive diet because I got all manner of health problems from drinking too much beer and eating croissants. The most irritating one is the constant ringing in the ears, from a yeast infection after the docs gave me antibiotics. It's really terrible! But that should be stopping soon after pharmaceuticals and broccoli. I didn't need my tonsils removed, I just needed to stop eating bread!

It all started when I went to Belgium last year. I developed a taste for the beers that they have there, and croissants. I started to eat a lot more bread at lunch times over the winter, because I needed more energy as I was cycling for 14 miles a day in about 0 - 5 degrees.

Previous to this I hadn't eaten bread regularly for years. I would eat rice cakes, rice noodles, buckwheat noodles, rye bread... I remember a brief time during my degree when I cut out beer because I had a similar problem with it, and drank cider from wine glasses at the pub instead. Then gradually I drank more beer, and ate a lot of bread, every day..

I was on a raw food diet during 2010. That was quite a lot of fun, and I think I might have to do that again. The thing I have to remember though, is to not get addicted to losing weight. Having that many vitamins can give me this hyperactive energy, I feel a little bit like a pixie. It did make me not eat enough carbs, and I should in future not be afraid of them once I start the health food diet.

I'm not allowed to eat a lot of things for the next month, and after that, I will be able to gradually go back to some sort of normality. I cannot eat: bread, cheese, white rice, honey, sugar, mushrooms, canned tomatoes, coffee, ALCOHOL, dried fruit, chutney, non-organic meat (antibiotic content), capers, baked beans, distilled vinegar, peanuts, cakes, cereals, milk, processed soups....

I can eat: whole barley, oat bran, eggs, organic chicken, duck, beef, all types of fish, seeds, wild rice, almonds, cashew nuts, lemon, lime, fresh tomatoes, almond milk, fresh ginger, fresh garlic, onions, herbs, pepper, salt, apple cider vinegar, toasted whole barley drinks, broccoli, green peppers, lettuce, kale, peas, berries....

In non health food related news, I'm busy being an artist this summer. I'm grateful for the chance to do all of this again.
