Because the weather is to nice for the first time in what seems like years, I decided to walk to the office this morning.
I walked through Little Korea, past the martial arts store, through all the importers distributing their illegitimate wares, and down through Chelsea. It was a very nice walk, therapeutic even. I decided I need to do that more often. I'm so much more awake mentally now. The subway is such a downer, people are cranky (including myself), and it's just so...underground.
There are ads on bus stops for the new Rudy movie that is due to come out some time soon on some second rate cable station. The ad shows a profile of the combover superimposed over a pre-9/11 Manhattan.
"Oh, so heroic," I thought sarcastically.
Someone had scratched a big Ghostbusters-like circle-slash over Rudy's face, probably with keys or some other found object.
"Modern day protest," I bemused.
The poor bastard couldn't even find spray paint because they either don't sell it or the plastic they use on bus stop posters makes paint slide right off. Subways are now coated with something similar. Meanwhile, anti-war protesters have to go to city hall and stand in line and announce their march weeks ahead of time.
Planned protest and muted free speech. Fun.
