photography is in my head

I've recently found new inspiration from some photography blogs...so I've been going through some old photos and editing them. I'm still trying to find my style. My natural inclination is to try to make pretty eye-candy a la magazine or calendar photos...but then I realize how much I'm drawn to photos that are NOT magazine pretty. I like the raw, the real, authentic, rugged, unairbrushed, the slightly grainy, gritty, spontaneous, dirty, ordinary, unnaturally colored, darkly cheerful, and oddly lit.

Here are some photos of mine that I've been messing with.  I do not take many vertically oriented photos, and that may need to change.
