reasons to smile...
i was able to see laura and emily today, to help pick stuff out for laura's dorm room at the bed, bath and beyond at great lakes crossing.
we went to target afterwards, which has become my new mecca. just wandered through the aisles, checking out the clothes and purses and bedding. i fell in love with all of the todd oldham stuff but all i got was a magazine and a lip gloss... of course.
after getting back to laura's, emily and i had to leave so she could talk with her dad. we sat in my car for awhile and started this whole conversation, and emily finally said "let's just go to coffee or something" so we went out to starbucks around nine. at ten, they kicked us out and we went back to my car to continue the conversation. we talked about college and the people we miss, how we have to visit each other and how glad we were that we got to be so close near the end of high school.
it was such a great talk.
the other wonderful part of the night was that while we were talking about how much we missed ravi and how i thought that he was going to be my closest friend at michigan state who went to cranbrook, he called me (!!!) we were so excited to talk with him, since he's been away at camp. i think he's coming home this weekend which will be really nice. i was telling him about my orientation and how i felt lonely and hope that things won't be like that when school actually starts, and he said to me "i won't let that happen to you" which was so sweet. he said "i love you and i'll call you this week if i'm coming home for the weekend" and it just made me miss him even more. so hopefully we can all do something together.
