I'm going to a German Comic Con (apparently, there's more than one) tomorrow! It was a very last minute decision, I hope there are tickets left, as online sales ended a few days ago. My sister will even come with me, her very first fandom event.

Had a wonderful little trip to Berlin with the sister. We only had one and a half days for sightseeing, but we tried to cram in a couple of classics (the Brandenburg Gate, one of my most favorite places to visit in the world) and some things that we hadn't done, or at least not in a long time.
The Brandenburg Gate, for me, is such an important symbol of unity. During the separation of Germany, it was right behind the inner-Berlin border on the Eastern side, you couldn't even go up to it. The fact that I can walk through, and touch the columns now, always amazes me.

Of course, the train trip back did not go as planned. We were supposed to only change trains once. Two weeks before the trip the first train's route was changed, so we now had to change trains twice and leave half an hour early. Then, two hours into the trip, the train stopped in the middle of nowhere because - wait for it - "a small fire on the tracks"... That's definitely a new one. Of course we missed our connection and by the time we made it to our final destination (with another delayed train), we were more than an hour late. And promptly got stuck in traffic to the Ed Sheeran concert. We did miss one of the opening acts but were well in time for Ed. It was a great concert, although I was glad we had a seat. We even got a rainbow!
