We had a virus at work, so I found myself with an unexpected day off. Good timing, too, since when I woke up this morning, it was snowing heavily. Which means that a quarter of all drivers will drive too slow and another quarter too reckless for the conditions. Naturally, I belong to the remaning half of reasonable drivers. ;-D
Unfortunately, our IT person declared all computers except for boss' one safe to use, so back to the office tomorrow.
Speaking of work, I stuck to what I know and am now a full-time employee of the company I actually worked for in the last year.
I have a rough outline for my vacation in Italy in May, although it cost me quite some nerves since booking most of the trains online hardly worked the way I wanted it to. (Finding out why it did not work was even harder.)
Now I'm doing a short hop to one of the bigger train stations to board a direct train to Milan. From there straight on to Florence, where I'll stay for three days - I'll probably take a trip to Pisa one day. Then convention, Rome and the trip back home taking a whole day with a longer stop in a Swiss town (Swiss chocolate!).
I'm contemplating singing up for
spn_j2_bigbang... I signed up once before but never finished that story before the authors' deadline (i.e. did not get assigned an artist). I have a story in my head, a - for me - quite elaborate one, actually, but I'm not sure whether I can get it out of there. Right now I'm thinking doing a deal with myself: If I can manage to write 2000 words of that story before authors' singups close, I'll do it.
