I'm not sure if the best part of Supernatural 6x12 was Sam saying, "Well, I'm not the other man" (I hope you paid attention there, you epithet-loving authors!), or this:
Toward the end Sam had to decide which dragon-guy to go after, and after a quick slash at the one facing him he went after the one who was attacking Dean. I think soul-less Sam would never have done that; it was the perfect opportunity to first kill one while the other was busy with Dean, and then that one. But he didn't because Dean was in danger. It was a small thing, but I think it showed perfectly how much has changed and how much had been wrong before.
I loved seeing their brotherly dynamic again, the bantering, a real hug! I even loved that they make the same mistakes as ever. When has lying and keeping secrets from each other ever worked out for them, and still they do it and probably always will if they think they're protecting the other by doing it. Oh boys. I'm happy they're back.
