The weather is crazy at the moment. Today we had everything from snowflakes to rain to sunshine. And a pretty rainbow.

I spent most of the time yesterday sitting around in the waiting room of two doctors because of a strange rash that had appeared on my left ankle and my left forearm last Friday. First I went to my usual doctor, then to a dermatologist, and because I didn't have an appointment for either, of course, I waited forever. In the end the dermatologist concluded that it isn't a rash, after all, but bites from "something that crawls". He tried to come up with what exactly it might be, but we don't have any pets, and I haven't had contact with grass, dry wood, birds, or Thai prostitutes lately. Now I'm treating it with a lotion containing cortisone and trying very hard not to scratch when it itches. I still have the scars from Peruvian flea bites, I don't need more.

On the bright side, all that waiting means that I now know everything about Daniel Westling (fiancé of Victoria, the crown princess of Sweden), how the Beckhams are apparently neglecting their children, and that Emma Watson is cute. I also wrote a bit.

If you're even slightly interested in astronomy; provided the sky is clear where you are, you should be able to see the Discovery space shuttle trailing behind the ISS after undocking in the next few days. You can look up a schedule of the times the ISS passes over your location on www.heavens-above.com. You need to chose your location first under the heading "Configuration" (best seleted "from database") and then the "Sattelites" heading has the 10 days prediction for the ISS. The lower the "Mag" (magnitude) number, the better the visibility; and the "Alt." (altitude) where it will show up is given in degrees, where 0 would be staring straight ahead and 90 directly above you. "Az." (azimuth) is the direction (north, west, etc.)
