Well, this week God has taught me how to worship Him even when things aren't going well. I had a ridiculously bad week, especially from Tuesday til Today. I tell you what, I'm reading a book called Exploring Worship and it's really good. So God challenged me with one of it's key points this week. Tuesday was the anniversary of my grandma's death. Tough day. Then Wednesday we had to put my grandpa in the hospital. Turns out he has bronchitis, not as bad as it could've been. Then had an issue with Greg Wednesday night (which I'm extremely glad to say is over). Then Thursday my car wouldn't start while leaving the hospital after visiting my grandpa. Thursday, before the car incident, God really challenged me to just worship Him through all of this. No matter what the circumstance, He is still worthy. He's still holy. He's still in control. In my heart I didn't believe the lies that Satan was feeding me. After struggling through all of these circumstances, Thursday night at Cru we were in worship practice and I really didn't feel like worshiping. I was even told that if I didn't feel like it I didn't have to sing. I simply said, "I need to do this tonight." Come to find out, the songs we were doing totally spoke to my situation. We sang Blessed Be Your Name and Trading My Sorrows. During Blessed Be Your Name, God spoke to me through the words, "Every blessing You pour out, I'll turn back to praise, and when the darkness closes in still I will say!" Another line is, "blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering, though there's pain in the offering, blessed be Your name." No matter what, blessed be His name! Then the talk dealt with abiding in Christ. Some questions that were asked at the end were: What is causing anxiety in your heart? Are you believing lies or the truth? I knew that what Satan was doing in my mind was telling me lies. Sure enough, the issue I was dealing with was settled last night. God is awesome!
I have my Praxis II tomorrow and I'm a little nervous. I know God will be with me through it and I will pass it. I claim it!
