(no subject)
Got the wood pile moved and the last areas of spackle work done this afternoon. Also got the flashing along the front of the house re-secured with an exuberant number of nails. It should not pop itself loose anytime soon. :-) Got another wall sanded, that leaves 5 wall faces total on the house and cottage left to sand down. Then I got back through with hand sander thing where my power-sander doesn't fit, fortunately that is a very minor amount of work. Painter-guy starts the job on the 5th but wants to powerwash the house before then so I'm aiming at this point in time to be done before Friday with my portion of this work. In theory, if I am up and moving by 8:30 again tomorrow morning I should be able whack out the sanding portion really fast. For the larger walls, especially those with the larger amounts of patching done it's so far taking me about an hour, and that's not to bad I don't think considering I'm being pretty detail oriented. I figure 5-6 hours worth of sanding left, probably closer to 6 hours since there's portions that will require me to climb the ladder, work a bit, crawl down, move ladder, etc.
I'm feeling really burly about doing all this myself, but I'm going to be really really happy to hand this project off to the painters so they can finish out the rest of it. Yes, indeed I will. Then I get to do the decks. Woohoo. Crawling around on my hands and knees is so much fun! :P I need to see about ordering a load of gravel/driveway rock delivered too so I can get that down before winter this year.
