how do you measure a year in the life?
I encourage people to see Rent, yeah I know I had to be dragged to it since the last musical movie I saw caused me to fall asleep but this one is quite different. I don't know if everyone my age will be able to identify with it since we, of course, were still watching sesame street and barely in preschool when the AIDS epidemic was really devastating people since no one knew how it had come about or what to do about it. I remember watching an old degrassi (the original) episode about some guy having it and not being able to tell anyone and how everyone thought you could get it from sitting on a toilet or shaking someone's hand. .. But you know, Alberta - last time I heard - still has the highest percentage of people with HIV of all the provinces. Plus if someone like that doesn't kill you, bird flu or microwaves or something else will so it's a good 'live day by day' movie.
