Wow, another amazing day, and it's not even over yet! After a couple of hours of computer games (Chuzzle Deluxe and Solitaire World Cruise) David, Rebecca, and I went to a hotel by the river...and when I say a hotel by the river, I mean The Oriental--one of the best hotels in the world! We looked at some (kinda boring) pictures of previous kings of Thailand and then settled down for lunch. I had Pad Thai (again!) and also some delicious Tom Khar Gai soup.
I learned that asking for Tam Khar Gai without chicken is bascially asking for chicken soup sans the chicken (or a hamburger without the meat), but I am used to doing such silly things, so I was unfazed. I left the table stuffed to the brim and while making a quick pit stop at the lady's room proceeded to take my special kind of souvenir (sanitary bags from the bathroom stall). They said "The Oriental" on them, and I needed something to remember the place by--at least I didn't take the crawfish head that was served with my Pad Thai!
One extra things that I failed to mention in previous postings is...I love gold! Ok, I actually prefer silver, but if I did, in fact, love gold--Thailand is so the place for it. The street lamps, covered in gold...signs, gold, temples and other buildings--and many other things--encrusted in gems and plated in gold (whether they're real or not makes no difference, they make me feel PRETTY!! lol)
Other exciting roadside phenomena include Amazonian Thai women ( I saw some monsters) and two of the fattest Asian (is that PC?) people I have EVER seen--in fact they were two of the fattest people I have ever seen in general, and one was a child (obese children = super scary).
That's all for the first half of my day, I'm sure there's much more to come!
:-)
