Like Legolas, in LOTR. So sad, but that's the detail from those movies that I always remember. My favorite part? Perhaps. ^^;;
Anyway, that happened to me this morning. Am I magical? Have I lost that much weight? Or was it just perhaps frozen so solid that it could support me? Well think what you must... :P
There was a comedian I was watching, it might have been Jim Gaffigan, who said that he hated when you watched an older movie that everyone else had seen ages ago. Because you want to talk about it, but everyone else is way past that. On that note, this has been my weekend of catching up on DVDs that I HAD to have but have never gotten around to. :)
First up, Big Fish. Which I liked more than I thought I would. I have a thing for whimsy. ^_^ Plus, I think I just found it refreshing to see a Tim Burton film that didn't star Johnny Depp (not that I have anything against him). ^_^
I just finished Memoirs of a Geisha, which I read ages ago. It was a beautiful film, but different from the book. Movies can never be 100% true to the original source, they have time to consider. I totally understand. And even though I can't remember certain details, something bugged me. I suppose I should go back and re-read it so I can be fully aware of what's bugging me. ^^;;
Finally, Stardust. ;-; I... I loved it. While I love whimsy, fairy tales are always my favorites. And this one captured my heart. I always had the basic idea of the plot from the previews, but I don't think they did an accurate job of representing the movie. Since I haven't read the book, I may just have to pick it up. Sometimes, I think it's better to not read the book before the movie. Then I'm not bothered by the differences, even if I can't remember them (see above paragraph). ^_^"
I've still got more movies to trudge through. Baron Munchausen. Hidalgo. Nanny McPhee. This isn't counting my TV shows that I also haven't finished. MST3K, Brisco County, Whose Line is it Anyway?, The Dresden Files, That 70's Show, Undeclared & CSI. ... and that doesn't even being to count the anime I'm behind on.
aaaaand... I just ordered 13 more DVDs. It'll never end. *lol*
