maybe you could just lay out a patio with stepping stones, just to get you through. then maybe a table with an umbrella for shade. and a hammock.

Good idea. Yes, I think we'll try to do something like that. I love sitting outside in the rain though, and I love the natural flow from inside living space to the outside living space that is a deck or porch. I'm just being needy here.

Actually, I think porches feed my spirit in a very important way.

Oh my my... DO come down in the "wintertime"... Deck doesn't matter so much as having you as a house guest! Maybe you could schedule it around a totally sweet show that needs to be seen. Do you have other business in these parts?
