I feel the same way about elevation. We live about a quarter of the way up Monte Sano... it's gonna break my heart to leave. When we go to buy a house, it'll be in this same area, where within five minutes I can be at the top of the mountain.
I find myself really missing South Dakota. There's just something about driving through the mountains in the winter and catching glimpses of the snow-covered plains... :::sigh:::
As for Greenville... we wanted it to work, we tried to make it work, but it just wasn't for us.
I had a couple of days last week where I felt real cranky and frustrated. I realized that I hadn't left my basement apartment in two days so I went outside and, even though it was cold, I felt much better. I try to get out with Eloise 6 days a week (I like to keep Monday mostly for cleaning up after a weekend of laziness). Even if we just get in the car and drive somewhere we at least got out of the house and got sunlight and saw things that could be stimulating to her brain growth. As for yoga and beer...go for it...I'm not a big fan of either but I understand the desire for both. We don't have any mountains 'round here but my sister lives up a big hill from us and Eloise often cries all the way back home down the hill. It could just be the timing of our departure (maybe she's tired or just sick of being away from home) but we also think it could be the elevation change 'cause my ears almost always pop on the way down. Luckily our new house will be the other direction. As for teething....that is common around here.
I was doing pretty good at getting out every day until I felt all crummy and low-energy. Today is brisk but sunny and we've already taken a walk and gone shopping. We're in good shape.
Yeah, I've often thought how much the elevation change could bother babies. All that pressure in those little heads...
Teething, ugh. It's weird how the pain comes and goes. What makes it come? What makes it go? She's been having a coupla good days, hooray!
I noticed in your pics Eloise has entered the world of food... Does she like the new tastes?
Yeah, we had tried rice cereal at like 4 1/2 months and she loved it but there was so much going on with her food stuff that we decided to stop 'til we understood her allergy situation better. We started back with sweet potatoes and she loved it. When we ran out of sweet potatoes I gave her rice cereal again for a couple of days...three days later none have been expelled. We are a bit worried about that and have stopped the solids again...urgh, food shouldn't be so difficult, food should be fun! Teething is weird. Eloise seemed to start teething at about three months. It's been on and off since then. I'm glad your back out on the go, now it's time for yoga and a beer.
i know what you mean about wanting to be HERE NOW. Sometimes I feel like I have to keep waiting and THEN I'll be here now. but why am I waiting? what for?
I agree, weather really does play a big part in moods.
a black bubble... I am talking to an 8 year old right now and he said his friend made a cartoon and since he couldn't spell, he made a word bubble for the cartoon but he just made it black. I thought, that probably says more about the thoughts of the character than actual words would.... anyway...
I love your fox. I used to have a dream of living in my own little cottage in the middle of the woods and during the day I would open the doors and play my piano or fiddle and a curious little fox would come out of the woods to observe me. He would become my shy friend and we would meet in this way every day.
