hey, i might as well ya know, update this thing. last night was mcr, and it was a really great show. I'm not going to say it was the best one I've seen, but it was definitely top 5. Nothing will ever top the East Rutherford show on my birthday last year, EVER. Fuckin, my favorite band, playing in OUR home state, on my birthday. yeah. But it was pretty amazing, I have a bunch of pics which are getting lots of praise. :] Hearing that people like my work makes me actually feel like I have a purpose in this world. Anyway keeping this semi short, Amandah and I got to Nassau Coliseum at 3pm, went straight to the buses with our cupcakes, and waited to see if any of the guys would come out. We made TONS of friends, which is awesome, and we met this amazing guy named Chuck and his 11 year old son Chase. they were from FL. badass. Mikey came out took pictures with Chase and some girl, and amandah and i were like "Mikey want a cupcake?!" he was like "YEAH!" excited and all happy, but his security guard pushed him back to the bus. we then waited by the buses for longer, Mikey came back out with Alicia [EHH I DONT LIKE HER], he said he'd come back outside, but he didnt. poo. We then saw Tim of Rise Against, said hi to him and he was very nice. We also saw Mama Way, she was VERY pretty and very sweet. Then we gave everyone our sweet cuppin' cakes, [lmfao] and were chilling by the buses until about 6. We met these 2 cool guys one names Rob, who was completely shit faced, and his friend Andrew who was mad chill. Amandah and I went to the line, and Rob and Andrew went to drink in their car. They finally showed up and we let them cut us in line. We made friends with people on line like Lou and Greg[?] they were hot boys who went to prepschool, haha. THEN leaf, rachel, sintia, and dori showed up! yay, they cut us too, and they were really scared by Rob who was pretty much feeling them up the whole time we were in line. Mind you, its like, 20 degrees out, with the wind chill making it about 5 degrees out. fuckin cold. We finally got at 730, got our wristbands and went down to the stage. Left side, cause its Frankie's side, and the past 2 times i saw them i was on ray's side. we were probably like 3rd row. mad cool. I made friends with other people cause I kept on yelling about how I lost my pregnant wife Maria in the crowd. haha. I made friends with this cool woman whos boyfriend is a roadie for NIN. madddd cool. finally Rise Against came on about 8-8:15? idk. I really didnt like them before, but I now have so much respect for the band. they are amazing live and have a great message. around 9:15 The Black Parade came on. Gerard came out on a gurney, they sang 'The End' into 'DEAD!' and then 'This Is How I Disappear'. They were all in their uniforms which have changed a little bit. Next up came 'The Sharpest Lives' which was awesome live. After that Gerard went into a little speech about how all of their dad's died in a fire in the 1800s except for Mikey and his dad. Then he was like "actually he's here right now and it's his birthday, so on the count of three we are going to sing 'Happy Birthday' his name is Handsome Don. 1-2-3!" and the whole crowd sang. It was so cute. He then dedicated the next song to his dad and it was 'Welcome to the Black Parade' They had these giant blimps come down and there was confetti and it was AMAZING. [even though i cannot stand that song]. Next they went into 'I don't love you' and 'House of Wolves' Then it was 'Cancer' which I took a video of. I will always love that song. Frank was sitting on the ground mouthing the words before his part of the guitar came in. It was so cute. Next was 'Mama' and they played it 3/4 of the way through, and at the part where it comes in really heavy Gerard just cuts the song and has a little speech on how if someone falls in the pit everyone stops what theyre doing and helps them up. then he was like "now, this part comes in REAL heavy I wanna see you go crazy" [or something along the lines of that] and they continue playing. Next was 'Sleep' which is my second favorite song off of the record, I cried. It was so good. Someone throws a flashing dinosaur onto the stage and Gerard goes "What the fuck was that? OMG its a flashing dinosaur! Its so cool! The Black Parade Appreciates your Gift" and throws it behind him, LMAO. Next was 'Teenagers' which was amazing ESPECIALLY the line that says "But if youre troubled and hurt what you got under your shirt will make them pay for the things that they did" and Gerard walks over to Frankie and feels his chest, SO HOT. Then they played 'Disenchanted' which is my favorite song off of TBP so I cried my eyes out. It was so beautiful. Then Gerard went into a little talk about how this is their first tour ever and they're really excited about it, but he screwed up and was like..."this is our 5th.. er i mean 1st tour ever" and I was confused, then he was like this is our last song and who is excited for MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and everyone freaked the fuck out. The Black Parade ended their set list with 'Famous Last Words' which was AMAZINGGGGG. Then the curtains go down, and everyone is chanting "M-C-R" and 'Blood' starts playing. Everyone sings with that and after.. you hear Gerard go "PIGGY! PIGGY! PIGGY!!!!!" and he runs out in his black leather jacket, Frankie in a tight black tshirt, and the rest in normal clothes, and they go into 'I'm Not Okay (I Promise)', 'It’s Not A Fashion Statement, It’s A Fucking Deathwish', 'Give ‘Em Hell, Kid', 'The Ghost Of You', 'Cemetery Drive', 'You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison' ,'Helena', and finally 'Thank You For The Venom' Best part was when Gerard went up to Mikey during... either 'Prison' or 'Fashion Statement'.. and unzips his jacket that he was on to find that Mikey is not wearing a shirt underneath. Mikey is all embarrassed walks back a couple steps and falls on the ground and precedes to play laying on the ground. Then Frank runs over to him and plays kneeling next to him and Gerard walks over to him and sings to Mikey. Meanwhile, they all are cracking up and cannot stop smiling. Also, during 'Venom' Frank, Mikey, Gerard, and Ray all turn around and face Bob and basically shoot him. Everyone was laughing so much. Then at the VERY end Ray was molesting everyone, and he does something to Gerard I don't remember what, but Gerard turns to him and chases him off stage. Ray had the BIGGEST smile on.
Another thing that happened, but im not sure when, was someone throws a CapriSun on stage and Gerard picks it up and goes "WHO WANTS A CAPRISUN?! Its a good drink!" and throws it into the crowd.
You could definitely tell that they are so excited and happy to be on tour again, cause they had so much fun and were laughing the whole night. One of the girls met them after and said to Ray 'you looked really happy tonight' and he said "yeah I am so excited and happy to be back on tour!" which i think is sooooooooooo cute.
Amandah and I then booked it outside and back to the tour buses, its about 10:50pm. We waited by the buses until 12:40am[ish]. We made friends with these two girls from Maryland and I asked them if they could give ANY of the guys the card that we bought for them and they're like, yeah, we're waiting until they come out. we thanked them and gave them hugs. we then went to the Macdonald's across the street cause I had to pee, and Amandah is talking to this one girl who was waiting outside too, and Amandah gives her her number and my moms cell number and asks the girl if she can give this to the girls from Maryland, and ask them to call us when they guys come out. They never called us last night but Amandah did get a call from them today saying that Gerard came out at about 1:15am, and she gave him our card and he was very happy and very thankful for the card. Amandah also gave the girl her myspace link, and they are seeing MCR in Maryland, and are going to try to get us something signed, which rules so fucking much.
Also, Amandah and I are really setting up a website, so we can get my stuff out there on the inter web. Amandah also wrote a letter to AP about Bamboozle, asking if we could possibly cover it considering they have not covered it yet, and it would be coming from a fan's point of view instead of a professional reporter and that both she and I are really proud of where we come from and Bamboozle is like the mecca of all festivals in NJ. We also said we'd do it pro-bono. Hopefully they are like, whoa, yeah. ::crosses fingers::
but yes, it was an awesome night, and I'm really happy that Gerard got our card. :D
