Having decided to bide his time and behave (for the moment), Jack had done so with his usual patience. Patience was something you learned when you'd lived as long as he had. Besides, he really needed some quiet time to think and get his reaction to Ianto being here and alive under control. Because if he was going to meet him face to face - and lord knows he wanted to - he was going to have to keep Ianto's impending death a secret from Ianto himself. No way could he let Ianto live knowing that was coming.
It ought to be easy enough. He'd kept a lot of things from Ianto before - sharing wasn't exactly in his nature - but most of those things had been his secrets. This was about Ianto, which made it far harder to keep from him.
When night came, he sat patiently in the cell with Naminé, waiting for that tell-tale snick of the door unlocking. The moment he heard it, he was up and out of there, stealing silently down the corridor to Cell 002 and rapping lightly on its door with his knuckles.
"Ianto? You in there?"
