He wasn't looking forward to the coming storm, as he hadn't been looking forward to much since his arrival in that place. There was only the anticipation, feral and determined, amused underneath it all. They'd called him a stubborn man before, and he held to that, feet braced and eyes on the door, waiting. He said he wouldn't go, and Nike liked to keep to his word when he could. It strengthened diplomatic relations, when they knew he followed through with his plans, as it weakened the resolve of his enemies, when they knew he could carry out his threats. Going along with the plan meant defeat, and that was just one of those things that didn't sit well in his mind.
