A glance to the clock. A bite to the nails. Some fingers through her hair. And a couple paces back and forth later, Lenalee groaned out loud to herself. Naruto-chan... he did say he was coming, didn't he? Lenalee thought as she began her third pace around her cell. She was postive that to anyone passing by, she looked like a worried mother, fretting herself to death about a lost child. No, he'll be here. He said he'd be here, he'll be here...
Lenalee fell unto her bed. Why was this Naruto getting her so worried? She didn't even know what he looked like! She had never even met the guy! Not that she had remembered at least. Lenalee hated the feeling that stirred inside of her. It felt a lot like not knowing. She hated not knowing who Naruto was, hell, she hated not knowing who all these people claiming to know her were. But even more then that, even more then not knowing, she hated forgetting.
Forget. It was a word Lenalee had known well. Perhaps she knew it better then anyone else; what it means to forget, and be forgotten in return. She was sure she had felt this emotion more so in the last few hours then she had in the last few years. Why couldn't she remember all these people? How could she-- no, how dare she forget all these people! It just wasn't like her.
Lenalee sighed, brushing her tampered fingers through her short clean hair. She had taken a shower only shortly before, making sure to be clean for Naruto. She could've laughed at how worked up she was getting over the boy she had only just talked to a few hours ago. Lenalee had to admit, whenever she heard his voice, a feeling of... familiarity washed through her. That hurt even more then to forget. Maybe Lenalee had known Naruto, somewhere, somehow. But whenever she thought of his face... her mind just went blank. Like someone had removed those memories from her head. Another sigh. Things always had to be difficult when it came to life. Always.
Standing herself up, she walked over to the intercom. Maybe I should... No. No. She was not about to let someone take over her life. She had to live it for herself, what was left of it anyway. In this place, Lenalee wasn't even sure if she would live another minute herself. Gaining a determined look on her face, she sat herself down on the floor. Like hell she'd stand around here waiting for him. Lenalee might as well do something to pass the time. Idly, she brushed her fingers and soft hands through her hair. Her soft hands.
She smiled. Lenalee was good at pretending not to care.
