Question

Alright, I have a question (and I know the answer may be obvious): if I don't like the yellowy color of brass, but would rather use bronze or silver-colored metals/paints for accents to my items that I plan to make, is it "not done," or is it just a different twist? Most metals are fair game. Aluminum is a fine Steampunk metal. Bronze, Copper, Iron, Tin: Go nuts! Chrome was possible in the Victorian age, but not very common.

As long as it doesn't read too modern, you should not raise the ire of the Steampunk Police. :)

Rubber wouldn't be used in excess though, right? More for gaskets-type things, I'd figure (and early wheels).
