Steampunk Fairytale Photoshoot
Hey everyone, allow me to introduce myself first. My name is Alfily, I'm relatively new to steam fashion, though I've lurked about and attended a few meetups with
dreamshadows , my real life friend. I'm from New York and had just briefly attended the Time Travelers Picnic last weekend along with her.
Now onto the topic at hand.
dreamshadows and I were debating plotting an upcoming photoshoot in the NY area for around October, and in thinking up ideas we decided that it would be interesting to steamify some of the childhood fairytales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland or Cinderella (to name a few). Basically pick a fairytale, have people choose which characters they wish to portray and come up with their own steam punk version of the character and then all meet up for a storytale photoshoot. This would allow people to be creative with the stories and interpretations of them as well as the costumes.
Now before implementing this idea, we figured we'd toss up a post here and ask what everyone thinks, and mainly which fairytales would you want to see steamified.
Some examples of fairytales that you may want to see steamified:
- Little Red Riding Hood
- Snow White
- Cinderella
- Alice in Wonderland
- Rapunzel
- The Sleeping Beauty
