I need to get a new pair. One of the posts snapped, and the other seems to have lost it's back - somewhere in the depths of one of my houses.. haha It's amazing how many people think they are real, though.
Thanks so much for showing us this! I think you might have just contributed to my broke-ness, however... *laughs* I want the Compass ring and Level necklace badly. Rawr. Maybe for a re-make? I know that the screw earrings would be easy enough to make, but I'm not altogether sure where I might be able to find such a teensie level or compass. Actually, it might be neat to make some bracelets, pendants, etc. with levels of different sizes.
Whoa, there I go again. *laughs* Anyway, thanks so much for pointing this place out! *grins*

They're not exactly teensie, but hardware stores sell little 'pocket' levels. The one I have is about six inches long, but the majority of the length is (I think!) the plastic housing. The level itself is maybe two, two and a half inches long. I'm about to take a hacksaw to mine as the first step to re-installing the level in some sort of jewelry mounting.
Oh! And I've seen small compasses (approximately the diameter of a nickel) attached to key rings. No idea how accurate they are but they look nifty.
A bone seller at an event I go to hands out little mini compass things when you buy something from him, advertising his store.. So I know those exist. I'm just not sure where!
