For those of you who don't know DragonCON is the world's largest SciFi/Fantasy/Comic/Gaming/Media convention. With over 50,000 people attending (and the recent addition of a FOURTH Host Hotel) it is quite the experience! Its also where I first encountered the Crew of the Airship Vertigo and also first adorned my initial Steampunk outfit.

Last year there was a Steampunk Party that I got invited to by a random passerby when I was dressed in my steamgear. Any news or word about one in the works this year?

I would say to watch dragoncon starting mid-August. Of course, that's when the community goes from 1-2 posts a day to 1-2 posts an hour.

Oh, Eternal Membership is cool...I'd do it if I hadn't gotten in the habit of working at Con.

Hopefully there will be some sort of steampunk meetup again this year!

I'm just glad I bought my membership when I did. The rise in price doesn't make it worth it anymore in my opinion. I'm still 4 years of cons from it paying for itself at the OLD rate.
