In my never ending quest to find

Goggles  that eather A) fit over my glasses, or B) Can cheaply have my prescription lenses  put in them, I may have hit on the answer, but I'm I need a little help making it work (if it can work at all).

While cleaning out my various scraps and junk lying around, I stumbled upon a wonderful find.... A broken pair of my glasses that have a prescription in them that still works for my eyes!   I was elated, as I honestly thought I threw them out..  So, now I might have something that I can turn into goggles...

This is were I'm askng all you wonderful, tinkering folks for help... I'm not quit sure how to get them in to a goggle like shape that will actually stay on my head...  I've included some pictures of some ideas I have, as well as the said broken frames behind a cut.

I'm thinking of building up on the existing frame with leather, and then attaching a strap from there to hold it onto my head.. But I'm not sure how to attach the leather to the frame in any permanent form, or even if leathers is the best thing to use.  Below you can see the pics I took of me fussing around with some leather scraps and tape.... (I'm sorry the second picture is a bit blurry!)

So, what are those with more experience in such matters opinions?  How is the best way to attach the leather to the frames? Is leather even the best thing to use?
