Advice for a source for feathers...
Hello! I'm brand new to the comm and really hoping to get you folks advice on a few things as I struggle to put together my first real steam punk costume. I'm doing a clockwork angel costume for Dragon*Con next year and I'm putting together a half skirt made of feather boas inspired by the skirt in this video:
I'm looking for a reliable source for feather boas that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg. Can any of you suggest a good website? I'm leery of shopping online at places that I haven't heard of but I really don't want to spend upwards of $8.00 for feather boas at my local craft stores.
I'm also looking for a good source for a nice harness that I could use to help hold the wings I'm building on and any advice on where to look for one of those would be great too. (Or any other advice for building and wearing steampunk wings.)
