Mad Scientist's apron

I whipped this up last weekend.  It's made of heavy cotton and I'll add some embellishments, but otherwise it's done.

This looks interesting! I'm just starting off, so I don't really know what's what yet. Just wondering, the patterned cloth, what is that called?

For the lack of anything better, paisley. It's also a heavy cotton.

Neat! I'm really liking the paisley, surprisingly - I think the colours, and the plain black and gold, tone it down sufficiently to make it elegant rather than tacky (as paisley tends to be, IMHO). Nice work!
