We just received our
DVDs of Terry Pratchett's Going Postal yesterday. It's a very lovely adaptation of the book with lots of nice brassy gizmology in the Clacks machines (semaphore machines used like the telegraph system) and Victorian-inspired costuming throughout - frock coat suits, bustled dresses, etc, with lots of care to make things look worn. It isn't necessary to have read the books to enjoy the movie (it probably helps if you haven't read it recently anyway - some of the tweaks they had to do to make it more screen friendly were a bit jarring to me).
