More bits of my emsemble, as they develop...

I posted pics of my "Gawkular Enhancement Device" before, but now it's found a home as part of a mask...




I had some fun with the mask itself... the corrugated tubing is split wiring sheathing, available at better electronics shops for cheap. The fittings that hold the tubing in place are right-angle coaxial cable connectors picked up from the dollar store. They came out of the package with the gold plating.




Something I added to my emsemble last fall was my personal St. Elmo's Fire Generator:







The "St. Elmo's Fire Generator" started life as a desktop plasma display that I bought last summer at a convention for about $20 after discovering it operated on power from a 12V transformer. I now power it with two 6V lantern batteries wired in series and mounted in a shoulder-slung case of my own design and construction:




I took the original plastic housing off the back of the display, removed the driver circuit to a distance (it now sits in mid-cabling), and mounted the glass plasma disk in wood and brass. A better appreciation of the effect can be seen in video:
