Question Regarding Accessory...

Greetings all!

(Mods if I have crossed a line let me know and I will remove the post asap! Thanks!)

I have a question for all you amazing people out there, and I am hoping someone has a good idea for what I am looking for.

I am playing around with a costume idea and I want to see if anyone has any good ideas for the accessories I am putting together. One of the things I will be doing is making little tops of screws (think rounded dome with the single slit along the middle for the flat-head screw drivers) to put all over the costume. I am going to make one of each of the sizes I want out of Sculpey, bake, and make plaster molds for them so I can just bang out a bunch of ‘em. Here is the dig - they need to be light, but durable. It means no paper mache since I have a mold. I am concerned that Sculpey will get WAY too heavy for what I want. I also don’t want to have to deal with hollowing out the backs, which would loose me time, structural support, as well as the way I wish to attach them. I believe resin will also get quite heavy. They will range in size from about the size of half a penny in circumference to maybe up to the size of a small donut (still working out the details of the costume). It needs to be something I can paint afterward as well.

I am reminded of this um…Crayola model magic stuff that is almost like super soft squishy foamy stuff that air dries. However, I do not remember how hard it gets. Does anyone remember? I wanted to ask before I went out, bought a bag of it, and found out it inappropriate for my purposes.

Does anyone have any other good ideas for materials???

Thanks in advance!
