My husband and I are attending a formal masquerade Halloween wedding. Notice was a little short so I didn't have time to delve into making Victorian formal wear; however, I'm having a blast with the accessories. that is a positively hilarious cane. wonderful!

makes me want to make a similar one that would pour out a beverage of some sort when opened. :D "hmm... i seem to be sobering up... anyone seen my cane?" mwaha.

You know, given the way the spigot works, you might be able to make that happen by simply using a pipe instead of a pole for the cane shaft. Of course you'd want to make sure it was clean (which is why I suggest pipe instead of boring out the wood and trying to seal it - this only has a 3/4 inch diameter) but then you'd fill your cane and, when the well ran dry, you'd simply open the spigot and pour your libation into a glass.

That will be really awesome when it is done, I think.

When I have more time (after this wedding, for example) I want to explore system canes and seeing what I can work into them.
