I GOT A MARSHALL INTERVIEW!!!

This is so exciting. I just found out this morning, which is earlier than expected. My interview is next Thursday in San Francisco. I'm so pumped. Although the immediate excitement of hearing this news was certainly joined by the sudden overwhelming prospect of how much work I have to do to prepare for this interview once I talked to Julia this afternoon, who congratulated me, told me she hoped I understood how big of a deal this is (I'm only the 2nd person from Whitman ever to even get a Marshall interview), and then told me I need to clear as much as possible out of my schedule between now and then so that I can do a ridiculous amount of mock interviews. And that I need to be reading the news every day and researching topics related to my proposal and dressing nicely all the time as practice. I told her that I don't have very many nice clothes, and she said that I'm welcome to borrow anything in her closet. Ha! The thought of me in Julia Davis's clothes is pretty ridiculous.
So I'll be flying to San Francisco next Wednesday evening, staying in a hotel overnight, having my interview Thursday afternoon (they originally put it at 9:30 am, but I called them back and got it moved once I realized that the plane would get in at 11:30 the night before and I wanted to get enough sleep), and then I'll be picked up by my Uncle Jerry, who I'll stay with until Saturday. Figure I might as well make the most of this free trip to San Francisco.
This puts my thesis at somewhat of a standstill. Alas. I need to email Charles and Phil and explain myself. It seems like a pretty damn good excuse.
Ug ug ug. Need to go read EVERYTHING.
