Title: Business as usual (crossover with Amelia Peabody Mysteries)
Word count: 100
Characters: Amela Peabody, Radcliffe Emerson
Rating: PG-12
Written for P100 challenge 422: Egypt
AN: For those who have not read Elizabeth Peter’s books, Amelia and her husband, Emerson, are archaeologists working at the beginning of the twentieth century. I’m not sure if this counts as crossover or a fusion.

It had been a very satisfying first day. Emerson inspired our men with the mixture of brilliance, goodwill and curses that is all his own. I accomplished my customary efficient site organisation.
“Excellent work, Peabody,” said Emerson when we finally halted.
Before I could respond, a light attracted my attention. A glowing sphere hung silent and flickering before fading away.
Emerson snorted. “Already! B’gad, Peabody, our reputation precedes us. Still, this year’s inevitable collection of thieves and bas-blaggards has managed a higher standard of supernatural trickery than usual.”
I joined his laughter. It was going to be a good year.
