“It’s not healthy, you know,” protested Connor with mingled disapproval and concern.
“It’s what I want. And since when d’you care about healthy eating?” snapped Abby. “No, don’t tell me, just fuck off!”
He grinned and laid a hand lightly on her belly. “Already did.”
If she could move Abby would have kicked him but Connor read her mind and beat a hasty retreat. Why had this seemed like a good idea? She hated everything and everyone but especially Connor.
Still she forgave him when he came back with a large tub of vanilla ice-cream lightly sprinkled with coal dust.
