Becker tightened his grip and tried to concentrate more on the warm hide beneath his fingers and less on the prospect of passing out. He was assisting Abby in the treatment of an injured Conchoraptor.
“Job done,” announced Abby, inserting a final stitch. “You’ll be fine. That’s more than I can say for you, Becker. You look like death warmed up.”
Becker coughed liberally over the Conchoraptor. He looked apologetically at the beast then pushed it out of his mind as the SF crew arrived to return the animal home.
It wasn’t like he was going to cause a pandemic.
