Today is so beautiful. I wish so much I could be outside enjoying it. Instead I am sitting in an air-conditioned glass box looking out at overpriced vehicles and a hyperactive George (he unloaded a stapler on me this morning. It was not very fun). Every now and then I attempt productivity and work on my take-home final. It is due Tuesday...and so I further procrastinate. Madonna is on the radio now. I think this is what my hell would be like. No, today is actually not that bad. The two guys who require the most mercy from me are out "sick" because of some late night/early morning engagements that effected their ability to communicate understandable english today. If they were here, my hell on earth would probably be complete. I have had some time to write out some thoughts and prayers, which has been nice, because the only distraction then was Von walking about the showroom flexing his biceps and saying "the body shop is right here, baby" plus the really bad music (okay, I am finally confessing that this station stinks and I would change it if I could bear country or if the beat came in...but neither are a possibility) like Kenny G, Flock of Seagulls and Rod Stewart. Every now and then I will be blessed with some Elton John or Toto, but even Journey is beginning to grate on my last nerve. I also don't care if Jefferson Starship "built this city on rock n' roll" the song really is one of the world's worst and the fact that I know all of it-sad.
In other news, I am getting so excited about May 22. I reread the last email Mike sent out again this morning to go over all of the prayer needs. Chaga's Youth group in Serbia will be assisting that Camp and have specifically requested prayer for at least two friends each--who might attend camp this summer. I am so excited in learning more about everything, and cannot wait to be over there in a couple of weeks. Hopefully just before Jon will graduate and I will be able to go home for a day to visit with the whole fam (in attendance).
Patrick Swayze's middle name? Gotta guess? That's right: Wayne. Where did I spot him last? Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. Why? Because Junco, Leslie, and Carly made me. The benefits were: a very cutish male lead (but he looks 14!) and much laughter after speculation of casting the female protagonist-not the best dancing/acting/etc. I hear it is Stephanie Collison's favorite movie though, and because I love her lots I will try not to grumble too much. Patrick Swayze's presence made it bearable, and I swooned when he appeared on film as the cuban ballroom dance teacher. Hottt. (take a joke already). Seriously, my fascination with Swayze is nothing less than abnormal curiosity of his unusual (acting)job choice and the truth behind his single, "She's like the wind" present on the equally hottt Dirty Dancing soundtrack. I don't think I would have a boyfriend if I required random serenades, but should he ever decide to do so, this song is guaranteed instant heart melt for one Melissa Lomax. (Note of caution: please guard my heart on such matters)
Didn't you hear? The Backstreet Boys just released a new single. Hopefully they will attract a more mature following, because they should be like 40 by now. Apparently one of them is the cousin of a girl I went to school with in Tifton. Howie Dourough. Believe it. Now move on to more important issues.
In other news I am also excited about my date tonight.
