Announcement: Halloween Party
The main entrance of the dorms spilled out into a common room. It was a casual room where one could escape from a roommate for a short bit, meet with friends or perhaps work on group projects. The room was clean, well lit, and orderly...aside from the back corner of the room.
When the students return from classes on Monday and pass through those doors, they will find that the once tidy room now had massive cobwebs strewn across that corner. Dark shadows concealed those few feet with a magical darkness that was not penetrated by the lights that illuminated the rest of the building. A bubbling cauldron sat on a small patch of earth. The toxic liquid that filled it glowed with a sickening shade of green, casting it's unreal light on the silky webs hanging above.
A spell had been cast - if a student were to stand before the cauldron, faint ghostly sounds could be heard. Images would form in the bubbling surface of an event from this time last year. And trapped in the spidery webs were several pieces of paper. In large, orange cut-out letters, the following announcement could be spelled out:
St. Catherine's School
All Hallows Eve Costume Ball!
Slayer's Field, 7pm
Off to either side were normal sheets of paper, a ballpoint pen tethered to each of them by a long, silky strand. Each page contained the names of students volunteering to cook, clean, set up, decorate or judge the annual Costume Contest.
