Karkat does manage to knock, once or twice, before the door slams open inward, and there's Equius, looming in the doorway and staring down at him. The room behind him is full of shadows... shadows, and at least one set of glowing red robot eyes.
Equius has his arms hanging limp at his sides, but there's a space between them and his ribs, and it's through this gap that two robot arms shoot out, aiming to grab Karkat around his upper arms. If the smaller troll doesn't move quickly, that robot is going to grab him.]

That's one thing I can handle.
[He turns around then, ducking under the robot's arm, and walks into the dark room. Unless Karkat can manage to wiggle free, that robot is going to yank him into the room too.]
