the crackle of the candle

Hi hi there

I love New York!

Where the hell to begin, I really don't know. We did so much!
Lots of touristy/cultural stuff - the Empire State Building, Museum of Natural History, Museum of Television and Radio, Guggenheim and International Centre of Photography to name but a few.
My Mum came up the Empire State Building - I'm so proud of her =) She even came out onto the balcony bit on the 86th floor, even if it was tres briefly, lol. The Museum of Television and Radio has this massive archive of every teevee and radio show you could think of. You pick what you want to watch, and they set up a private screening thing for you!! The Mama and me watched the first episode of Sex And The City and the pere watched an old 49ers game - twas sooooo cool!!

The Guggenheim was absolutely FANTASTIC! I loved it. The place is just full of inspiration, and there was a really good Lucio Fontana exhibition on too. Beeeeeast indeed!
Every morning we walked through Central Park. Absolutely beautiful so it was =) Apparently at night it's one of the dodgiest places to go, but first thing in the morning it's gorgeous. I made friends with my very own Home Alone Pigeon/Hobo man - no joke!!!! It's just such a beauitful park.
We went on a boat down the Hudson and that was really good. Especially when I fell asleep =) Haha!
Also went to Tiffany's which I was ecstatic about, I tried to remember lines from the film.

The blues are because you're getting fat and maybe it's been raining too long, you're just sad that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?
Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name!

I had a fantastic time! AND I love Americans, mainly because the accent is addictive and they come away with THE BEST SAYINGS EVER
For example - we were in a restruant and a group of four sat down at the table beside us. One of the woman at the table ordered a Veggie Burger, and one of the men at the table said "Why are you ordering a Veggie Burger, you never order that!?". The woman replied "Meat has like, sort of been offending me lately!". Lmao! I did nearly pee myself.

So thats New York New York. I have 250 photos. Eeep.
I got back yesterday and took Caitlin for a walk. She's such a chatterbox =)

A lovely, kind woman that I know died of a severe heart attack. The last time I saw her she was smiling, and that's a nice memory of her to have =)

Oh! I almost forgot. I'M EMPLOYED =D Thank fuck. I am now an employee of Laura Ashley in the new Braehead store. Can I please have some sort of WOOPWOOP?? My 5 month search is finally over. WOOPWOOP!! And just as it so happens, lovely folks are going out tomorrow night for drinks so I am sauntering along to celebrate and get slighty sloshed. Teeheeeee. Should be grand

Had to go into college thisa morning for a class, which turned out to be reeeeallly good. Ended up just being 5 of us - it was nice to just sit and have a wee natter, get to know each other better. Then I went to Venarts in the afternoon and it was just myself and David listening to good ol' Neil Young and a wee bit of The Clash. All was good until 15 minutes before we packed up. Silly troublesome customers.
Tomorrow I've got a vroomvroom lesson.
The Last Kiss soundtrack is FUCKING FANTASTIC. On a par with the Garden State one - maybe even slightly ahead. The Joshua Radin song makes me swoooooon, it's so beauitful.

Life goes to those that are true
The regular news over playing the blues, with the light on
