We didn't make it... but I did.

Before my career, Valerie and I's relationship was what I was most proud of. We had nothing together, and then everything together. We built ourselves from nothing, to become lovers and leaders.

I have met but two girls in the two years since our departure, both exactly how I would want to meet my next girlfriend - at a concert, which is my life. I felt strongly for both of them in separate manners, however, their souls were amiss. Kait's bled into mine as I stood confused in my captivation of our becoming. Truthfully, she seemed more apprehensive about our perpetual infidelity than I did myself, and that is where I realized the dilution of my character.

Infidelity tore my world apart and introduced me to Kait…
...who was I to allow that to define me now as well?
Had I met Kait while still with Valerie, there is no way that I would have cheated. My relationship meant everything to me and was all either of us ever had - it wasn't worth compromising for anyone. I don't know that anyone will ever rise to the level of fulfillment that I felt with Valerie, which hinders all motivation in starting anew. She is the love of my life, as I know I am still hers - regardless of the love now unrequited.

Two years and two girls later, I still feel the same.

I refer to myself as collateral damage in previous posts,
but I guess the truth is that Kait was mine, too.

I write this as my final entry in this saga, though at times I must admit I do miss her.

It's all behind me now.
But I'm almost certain I'll see her again.
It's who we are...
and I didn't move that far.

My dreams continue to come true without you.
