Scarface -- I really only got this movie out of respect to Al Pacino. I hear a lot of people talk highly of it, but that usually turns me off on something. But I must say I was impressed with it. Of course I can't really go wrong with Al Pacino. His role as Tony Montange and his rise to power, really good performance. Solid overall movie. 3 1/2 stars
JFK -- this was one of the more intriguing movies that I saw. It was the story of the death of JFK and how this DA Jim Garrison felt that Lee Harvey Oswald wasnt really the main man behind the shooting. Kevin Costner plays Garrison and it shows him trying to uncover the whole story to the situation. Not positive if it was all true, although I do think most of it was. Really powerful movie, and long as well (3 1/2 hours). 3 stars
Awakenings -- based on a true story, Robin Williams is this doctor who works in this hospital with these cronic patients, and finds this drug that helps get the patients out of the cronic state and back to reality with life. His star patient is Robert Deniro, and his transformation back with reality is pretty cool as he wants to go out there and live a normal life, although the hospital wont allow it. Then hes all acting crazy and eventually they all go back into their cronic state as before once taken off the meds. 3 stars
Working Girl -- Melanie Griffith is this business woman secretary who is looking to improve her situation in the business world and has problems with her boss and boyfriend. When her boss goes out of town for a couple weeks, she tries to sell one of her ideas to the head of the company, working as she has a higher positoin than what she really does have. She meets Harrison Ford and they work on the deal together, and eventually it all works out well. Its a pretty inspirational movie for women, but that doesn't really work for me. But still very good overall. 3 1/2 stars
