Oh my, I haven't posted on here since July! That's not very good. Damn my degree and its time-stealing! It goes hand in hand with my lack of fanfiction writing, which is really beginning to annoy me - I really want to write something, but whenever I get a rare spare moment I find myself unable to write due to all the rust and cobwebs that have gathered in that part of my head. But I have a little holiday time now, so I ought to force myself into writing something to finally soothe the nagging ache.
It's frustrating that I can't get my ACG&S writing flowing as I want. I've got some ideas outlined, but I just can't get them into prose!
* One idea that keeps nagging me is far too ambitious. I can't stop thinking about it, but it won't write easily and so there's no way I have enough time to devote to it.
* Then there's the possibility of a second part to 'Failure', which I scribbled out a few lines for and then promptly dried up.
* There's a Farnon family story I want to write, but I can't get the style right.
* Then there's that dratted 'working title: Cold' fic I was working on at the same time as 'The Little Brother', but since it's in first person and caused me so much difficulty back then, I don't think it's a good one to try while out of practice.
Since it's been ACG&S stuff that I've been occasionally attempting and stalling with over the last few...several...unproductive months, maybe I should try another direction. The BBC series Merlin has been the latest show to grab my interest, so maybe I should try that. I've made a userpic of lovely Arthur - actually, I've made two versions and I can't decide whether I like it best with or without the text...oh decisions!
But what to write about for Merlin...?? I need something interesting but unambitious, a.k.a. uncomplicated and short. But I can't think of anything unambitious!
On an aside, oh gosh! The Doctor Who special was fantastic! I'd forgotten how much I love Doctor Who & David Tennant! A good supporting cast too. Now, when's the next special, that's what I need to know! I need more! :D
