Mentalist fics and a Merlin challenge
Alrighty, it's high time I posted on here. Frustratingly I'm not doing so from a shiny new laptop, as I have to wait longer yet until the one I want comes back in stock. Fingers crossed for next week!
Let me see...what have I been up to...?
* I had a rather blissful two-day writing marathon and wrote three chapters of a Mentalist fic (working title 'Crash'). It was supposed to only be four parts long, but the content of the first part ended up spreading itself out into three and warranted a switch to the usage of the term "chapter". It's a fun idea, though I have trepidations about being able to pull it all off. I put it aside for a while, unsure whether I liked the weightier prose style it ended up writing itself in, but I ought to take another look at it soon.
* I planned a two part Mentalist fic (working title 'Curtain') at the same time as 'Crash'. I wrote the first few lines, got stuck and then got carried away by 'Crash'. I still love the idea and intend to try again at a later date.
* I've avoided my Merlin fic (it's such a scarily big project!).
* I've signed up for merlincapfics. Since this is a prompt challenge with a deadline it'll mean I shall have to finally get something for Merlin written to completion. Hopefully something enjoyable but less ambitious will come to fruition from the ideas jumping around in my head at the moment.
