I am not ready for work today and it will be a short day thanks to a late start due to the weather. I am so ready for this winter to be over with the hour and a half to and from Springfield I have had too many short weeks due to weather. What’s weird is for the most part it has not been bad storms but every time we get more than a couple of inches and some times less 155 turns into a mess. Something, will half to be done different if this contract gets extended or I get a full time job with the state. I am spending too much time in a car and not enough time with Willow and Angie.
The original plan for this weekend did not survive the making of them. We had planned to go to Maidens as a family and spend the night at the Ramada. But that only lasted about 20 min after we made them when Angie remembered she had dance practice for St pat day. So we decided that Willow would stay with my mom and I would go to the event alone. The day did not start of well and got worse before it got better. I left the house and got a little ways down the road before I got a texted from Angie asking me if I remembered the scroll. At which point I let loss with a few choice words and headed back home to get it. So then I got back on 74 headed east and about 30 min down the road between Carlock and Goodfield and I watched a 4 vehicle accident take place right in front of me. I was really glad that I was not any closer; I took my foot off the gas coasted through and pulled over. I grabbed my first-aid kit and rendered aid. I used up most of what I had by the time the professionals got there (about 30 min later we were in the middle of nowhere) and a good chuck of the state troops beside. I do know this I am buying a better kit to keep in the car I could have really used some stuff I use to have in my CLS bag. In fact minus the IV I think that’s what I want to put back in my car; not that it would have made any difference in this case. They ended up calling in a medi-vac for one of the victims. So after around 2 and half hours I gave my statement and was told I could leave the scene. I then drove to the event I got their around 1ish so I was to, late to get into the pool tourney. I saw Rowen and asked if she needed help on the list. So I ended up marshaling all afternoon and helped with tear down. Then Court happen I went up with the rest of illiton give our royal travel fund presentation and then headed back to end of the hall and was hanging out with ken and Ollie when I heard my name called for court. My first thought was like what did I do now? So I headed up and kneeled and was presented with an augmentation of arms for stopping at the accident. To say I was very surprised would be an understatement; I still some time wonder what the big deal was. But I know I am hard wired right or wrong to stop and help and to me, not stopping, never crossed my mind. My brother-in-law met me after court and we went for dinner with the rest of the group. We then went to the thieves’ party. I wish I could have stayed longer at it but it was a good night.
