Thanks to everyone who weighed in. I successfully downloaded iTunes and made two John Denver CDs and one with Jimmie Rodgers. \o/ (I really only needed two CDs for the trip, and didn't need to stay up till 1:00 AM making #3, but... Jimmie Rodgers!) Of course, now there's no need for Dad to buy me a new program for Christmas.
I'm now at Dad's place, downloading some of his CDs into my computer. Every once in awhile, iTunes puts up a message that says: iTunes uses Gracenote's Media Database to display information about songs on CDs. You can help improve this feature's accuracy by allowing iTunes to share information about this CD with Gracenote.
I'm hesitant. If I say 'yes' to sharing, will it put me on mailing lists for giving this or that music a try? In other words, should I say 'yes' to help anonymous other people, or 'no' to lessen my irritation levels?
Meanwhile, the puzzle-people answered me right away. Turns out, you have to solve them in order, then the next in line will open. (I was clicking on random puzzles, trying to get them to open.) What a relief! I zapped through all the puzzles, and now they're all accessible. (What a weird system. If a child is interested in puzzle E, but not puzzle D, they have to work 'D' anyway to get access to the E that entices them. Way to motivate kids to keep trying. Not.)
Anyway, I'm now with my folks, looking forward to baked ham and rigatoni for our big meal, followed by pumpkin, and downloading Marty Robbins into my computer. Good times.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate, and happy Thursday if you don't. And thanks again for the help.
